Another season of weekly golf scrambles have begun at the Laurel Run Golf Course in Sigel, PA. This year there will be two scrambles per week now through the end of fall, one on Wednesdays and one on Sundays. Everyone is invited to attend these events. Last year both men and women golfers participated and their ages ranged from 10 through 80+ years old. Modest prize money is awarded each week.
Groups of friends can request to be paired together, or you can enter the scramble by yourself and be paired up with a group.
The Laurel Run Golf Course has opened a few new greens since last summer, and a few have been made much larger. The course itself has gotten longer as well. There are still plenty of par 3 holes that are short enough for everyone, but not there are more holes that will require that most golfers use their drivers, including a par 5.
Every Sunday at 4:00 PM starting April 25, 2010 and Wednesday at 5:00 PM starting April 28, 2010.
Golfers 70 and older get a 1 handicap with a maximum deduction of 2 per group.
Everyone is invited. Players include beginners, high handicappers and even a few good golfers, but you do not have to be a low handicapper to enjoy the event. All you need is enough confidence in yourself to do your best. No one asks any more than that.
